Walking around the city should always be done with style. But we don’t just mean your accessories; we’re talking about your baby’s gear, too. A sleek stroller can make just as much of a fashion statement as your brand-new watch or designer shoes do.

Why Trust Us?

Because my full-time job is being mom to 2 precious daughters, and I know a thing or two about strollers. Besides personal experience, I get feedback from other moms who use these strollers every day and put all that research into our unbiased stroller buying guides

Besides, babies learn about beauty early on, so naturally, this education should start with their bassinet and stroller. And the aesthetic appeal is just how the JJ Cole 360 Broadway stroller first caught my eye.

While looks are great, they can never replace safety, comfort, and practicality, so though it’s stylish, does the JJ Cole Broadway stroller have what it takes to be a reliable ride for babies? Let’s find out in this thorough review!

Things to Consider Before Buying a Convertible Stroller

Convertible strollers are often luxury items that provide multiple positions for seating and carrying in addition to a bunch of practical perks. They do cost significantly more than regular strollers, so a bit of planning before making that big-bill purchase is in order.

Here are a few things to look for in a good stroller.

Comfort and Safety

Anything your baby uses should first and foremost be comfortable and safe. The padding of the bassinet or seat is probably the first thing parents look at, and that’s for good reason; babies spend a good deal of time on these!

Therefore, rich padding and soft, skin-friendly material are essentials. Cleaning and maintenance should also be easy, as proper hygiene is part of creating a safe environment for the baby.

A firmly padded harness is among the items that should be at the top of your checklist. It should be easy to adjust and lock. Most of all, it should stay in place, even when a witty baby tries to get it undone!

The backrest, bassinet width, and chair recline angles are also features that are worth looking into. A footrest is an accessory that some parents care about, while others not so much, so use your own discretion for those. The same goes for cup holders and trays.

Finally, accessible brakes that respond instantly are indispensable. Make sure you can reach them easily and that they lock the wheels in place without any slacking.

Ease-of-Use

Handling a stroller means three things:

  • Assembling
  • Driving
  • Folding

These three functions are either a breeze or rocket science! Choose a stroller that makes your life easier in all three departments.

Weather Protection

Your baby will be out in the harsh sun and sometimes subjected to some wind or rain. The stroller you have should provide sufficient protection from the elements. Otherwise, you’ll need to be willing to purchase the necessary covers separately.

Good Ergonomics for Parents

Comfort isn’t just for the babies; parents need a fair share of attention from the stroller designers, too. Driving your kid around should be fun and enjoyable to you, which is why we now see features like telescoping handles, pockets, ample storage space, and even MP3-compatible speakers.

JJ Cole Broadway Stroller Overview

After the huge success of the Bugaboo Cameleon a few years ago, convertible strollers became all the rage. They offered many positions, as well as carrying configurations, from bassinet to car seat.

They not only came with practical setups but also innovative and stylish designs. That’s why the Broadway stroller is such a popular pick — it’s a city stroller that balances versatility and elegance with style.

Things We Like

  • Easily converts from bassinet mode to toddler seat
  • Multiple seating configurations
  • Adaptability to car seats
  • Visually-pleasing aesthetics
  • Smooth drive and easy maneuvering

Room For Improvement

  • Doesn’t move easily around curbs or stairs
  • Center pivoting gives the impression of flimsiness
  • Doesn’t have a footrest, a cup holder, or a tray

Features and Benefits

JJ Cole’s Broadway is a unique convertible stroller, and we have a lot of good things to say about it. But here are the most important aspects.

The Innovative Design and Special Frame

Few other strollers share the Broadway frame design. Off the cuff, I can only remember one other stroller with a chassis converging into a central point, which is the Foppapedretti Myo. The Broadway has one perk over the Myo though, which is the large storage basket.

This design does two things: makes changing the direction of the seat a breeze and distributes the weight of the stroller in a way that makes it feel lighter.

Practical matters aside, this new design is certainly eye-catching!

Safety Certification

The frame is designed to carry newborns to toddlers. As it moves from one position to the next, several measures ensure the sturdiness and secure locking of the chair. There’s also an adjustable harness that attaches at multiple points and keeps your baby secure in the stroller.

The JJ Cole Broadway stroller has a safety certification from the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA). It also complies with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F833 requirements and Safety Standards.

This is pretty much exactly what we need to see the Broadway as a trustworthy dependable stroller for our babies.

Extended Usage From Infancy to Early Childhood

Changing strollers isn’t the best experience for parents. It’s like changing your own car; imagine driving an automatic vehicle for a few years, then going suddenly for a stick shift car! It’s a very similar kind of inconvenience.

Day after day we get used to many details — how we fold and unfold the stroller, where every lever belongs, and at which straps we have to open and then secure. That’s why having a single stroller that grows with our babies from early infancy onwards is a brilliant idea.

Such a stroller needs to accommodate our changing needs, too, while of course catering to our babies’ developmental stages. Convertibles are often the perfect choices for that.

The Broadway carries a baby bassinet for newborns, and it’s designed to accommodate kids up to 50 lbs. That’s usually around 3 years of age. Add a car seat adapter and it’s compatible with car seats from several different brands, like Graco Snugride and Chicco Keyfit.

Canopy Styling

The JJ Cole Broadway 360 comes with a conventional black canopy, but you have the option to change this color. There are six other canopy colors to choose from — Plumberry, Nordic Blue, Sprout, Sassy, Stone, and Mars Red.

The canopy isn’t huge, but it manages to cover your child well, even when in bassinet mode. It also provides decent protection from the wind or rain. As an additional perk, it has a peek-a-boo window on the top. And if you need to cover it, there’s a flap that rolls back and can be held in place with Velcro strips.

Convenience

Good news, parents: you won’t have much trouble setting up this stroller. It’s so easy that you won’t even need to check the manual.

Most of the seat configurations are done by rotating the seat and lifting the handlebar, and folding and unfolding aren’t complicated, either. Once you fold the Broadway stroller, it becomes a compact package that’s totally portable. You’ll need to remove the seat before folding, though, and reinstall it to bring it back to life.

The adjustable handlebar is a fan favorite, so whether you’re a petite or tall person, you can still push the stroller comfortably.

Finally, the storage basket is plenty roomy. So when you’re going out on a full day of errands, you can spare your arms from having to hold all the bulky stuff. Or, if you’re taking your child to the park or on a play date, you can load the basket with toys and snacks.

Smooth Driving

This is a city stroller, so it goes without saying that you’d be passing through crowded streets, narrow corridors, doors, and of course =, shops packed with people. A clumsy, hard-to-steer stroller always feels like an embarrassing situation waiting to happen, and we definitely don’t want that!

The JJ Cole Broadway stroller is compact, measuring around 11 x 22 x 35 inches. It has four swivel wheels at the front, which are great for maneuvering in tight spaces and the larger rear wheels make the ride as smooth as possible.

The frame design and weight distribution also contribute to decreasing the overall load while pushing the stroller.

Alternatives and Conclusion

The JJ Cole Broadway 360 is affordable, highly versatile, and nice-looking convertible stroller that will grow with your child from early infancy onwards. The safety certification of this model makes us more comfortable in using and recommending it.

Moreover, its design also considers the needs of parents. It’s quite comfortable, easy to handle, and driving it is actually enjoyable.

We mentioned earlier the Foppapedretti Myo stroller, so if you’re looking for a fashionable travel system that’s incredibly elegant, you should consider it as well. UPPAbaby strollers are also popular among the popular choices of many new parents, so take a look at the UPPAbaby Vista, another stylish convertible stroller that just may catch your eye.
