High-Protein Creamy Basil Salmon Pasta
Ingredients
Method
- Boil some salted water, add in your pasta, and give it a stir.
- While that’s boiling, heat some olive oil in a pan and add the cut-up garlic and zucchini, then give it a stir.
- Add about two tablespoons of cream cheese and a splash of milk, then stir it all together.
- Add in four ounces of smoked salmon and give it a nice stir until it’s all mixed in.
- Add in a tablespoon of pesto, stirring as you go.
- Add some salt and pepper, but go easy on the salt because the smoked salmon is already quite salty, then stir until everything is combined and let it simmer.
- Drain your pasta when it’s ready and go ahead and combine everything, giving it a good stir.
- Plate it up and add any toppings you like, like fresh chopped basil and chili flakes.
Notes
Preparing the Vegetables and Sauce
And while that’s boiling, I’ve cut up a small zucchini and a clove of garlic, heating some olive oil in a pan, and I’m just going to add the garlic and the zucchini right in. Give it a stir, and I’m adding about two tablespoons of cream cheese and just a splash of milk here.

Now you’re just going to stir all of that together, and I’m adding in four ounces of smoked salmon. Again, you’re going to give that a nice stir until it’s all mixed in, and I’m adding in a tablespoon of pesto here, again stirring as we go. Adding now some salt and some pepper, but you don’t need too much salt because the smoked salmon is also quite salty already. And then just stir until everything is combined and let that simmer.

Combining and Serving
Drain your pasta when it’s ready and go ahead and combine everything, giving it a good stir. Then you’re just going to plate this up. This makes two servings. And you can add any toppings you like here. I’m adding some fresh chopped basil and also some chili flakes because I like things spicy, but you could also add something like parmesan cheese.
And there you have it.
Now just dig in and enjoy!
