Baby Jogger: Versatile, Dependable, and Efficient

A manufacturer of strollers, car seats, and travel systems of all kinds, Baby Jogger has been in the baby business since 1984. With this significant amount of experience, Baby Jogger looks for a way to make an everyday active lifestyle compatible with the parenting lifestyle. As a result, Baby Jogger has designed several strollers that accommodate the needs of both parents and their young children.

From strollers that fold into your hand to strollers that can be re-arranged for singular or multiple children, there are options for almost every parent out there. Baby Jogger has also won numerous awards for some of their stroller designs. Some of these awards include the Platinum for Best Lightweight Buggy Design 2016 (Junior Magazine), Best Stroller of 2016 (New York Family), and Most Versatile Off-Terrain Stroller Finalist 2016 (Cribsie) to name a few.

With a strong reputation for manufacturing some of the most innovative strollers on the market, the brand has become one of the most widely recognized stroller brands around the world.

UPPAbaby: Innovation, Style, and Performance

The main mission behind UPPAbaby is engineering a stroller that’s as adaptable and stylish as you are. UPPAbaby is constantly looking for new ways to make their strollers lighter, easier to use, and more efficient to accommodate your parenting lifestyle. Furthermore, each stroller is designed to provide both comfort, safety, and support for your baby, letting you enjoy every outing, regardless of condition or location.

Furthermore, UPPAbaby also meets the most strict industry standards established by the Juvenile Product Manufacturing Association (JPMA). In order for companies and products to become certified, each product must be sample-tested in a designated laboratory. It must meet federal and state laws, as well as the higher standards for performance, safety, and functionality.

Furthermore, it also thoughtfully designed for the penny-pinching, urban-dwelling family.

Likewise, compatability for this stroller even further exceeds expectations. The stroller’s compact three-wheel design also allows it to fit into cramped areas. Moreover, the stroller’s front suspension system guarantees a smooth ride for your precious passenger over uneven surfaces and sidewalks.

The stroller weighs in at just 16.8 pounds, making it ideal for families who enjoy walking and want all the features and advantages of a regular full-size stroller but in a more compact, lighter package. Likewise, the single version of the stroller has a generous 50-pound weight limit, so a large toddler is easily accommodated.

The City Mini is also compatible with all the major car seat brands. As a result, it’s perfect for families who are on-the-go and like to travel.

Notable features include:

  • Large UV 50+ sun canopy, offering superb sun protection for your child while allowing them to enjoy the day
  • Two peek-a-boo windows, making it easy to check up on your little one without disturbing them
  • One-handed fold and auto-lock for easy handling

Drawbacks

As with most stroller models, the Baby Jogger City Mini has a few minor cons to take into consideration.

The main gripe from users is that the stroller’s underseat storage basket is quite small, and it can be tricky to add and remove items.

Also, all the accessories for the stroller are sold separately, including the parent console and the car seat adapter.

UPPAbaby Cruz

Like the Baby Jogger City Mini, the UPPAbaby Cruz stroller falls within the category of lightweight, compact strollers.

The UPPAbaby Cruz offers lots of the popular features that you’ll find on a regular, full-size stroller. However, along with these features, it’s also more compact for folding, and lighter too.

The Cruz boasts a reversible, generous seat with a full recline that’s lever-operated and very easy to adjust. Like the City Mini, the Cruz has a very large canopy. However, though the Cruz lacks peek-a-boo windows, it does have a handy, adjustable pop-out sun visor for additional protection. Furthermore, the pop-out visor can also be locked back into a resting position.

Unlike the City Mini, the Cruz offers an adjustable leg rest for an extra-comfortable ride. Parents love the luxurious, adjustable handlebar with its real leather cover and matching swing-away bumper bar.

2018 UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller -Jordan (Charcoal Melange/Silver/Black Leather)

The underseat storage basket on the Cruz is larger than that on the City Mini, although the fold is comparable, and the Cruz also has an auto-lock feature, allowing you to store the stroller in a space-saving upright position.

The Cruz is convertible for hassle-free travel too. Simply replace the child seat with an infant car seat, and you’re good to go. If you have a baby, you can replace the seat with a bassinet (sold separately.) The Cruz is compatible with many of the most popular car seat makes, including:

  • Cybex
  • UPPAbaby Mesa
  • Nuna
  • Maxi-Cosi

Drawbacks

When it comes to price, the Cruz comes out slightly more expensive than the City Mini, but you do get a bit more for your money.

UPPAbaby Vista

The UPPAbaby Vista is a regular stroller, rather than a lightweight model, weighing in at 26 pounds. As a result of its weight, it’s considerably heavier than both the City Mini and the Cruz.

UPPAbaby 2018 Vista Stroller -Bryce (White Marl/Silver/Chestnut Leather)

The Vista was upgraded in 2018 to include a slightly longer bassinet that will take a larger, older infant. Therefore, not only will it accommodate larger children, but it now boasts a leather-covered handlebar and bumper bar.

UPPAbaby 2018 Vista Stroller -Bryce (White Marl/Silver/Chestnut Leather)

Similarly, with the City Mini, you can use the Cruz as a regular, single stroller. However, it also converts to a double with the addition of a second seat. Also, you can add a glider board to accommodate an older sibling who likes to ride along too.

Likewise, the Vista copes well with uneven ground, cracked sidewalks, playground mulch, and even grass and mud thanks to the stroller’s four-wheel suspension system. Like the City Mini, the Vista has solid, puncture-proof wheels.

The Vista has a reversible, roomy seat with a deep, lever-operated recline that’s easily adjustable.

More notable features include:

  • Huge sun canopy with pop-out SPF 50+ visor
  • Massive underseat storage basket
  • Adjustable handlebar to suit parents of varying heights
  • One-step, intuitive fold, and auto-lock for freestanding functionality

As you would expect, the Vista sits in a higher price bracket than the City Mini.

If you’re looking for a standard sturdy stroller, then the Baby Jogger City Mini should be right up your alley. However, if portability is more your priority, then you can take the super lightweight UPPAbaby Cruz with you just about anywhere if you’re willing to pay a little extra for it. Likewise, if you’re looking for something super sturdy with durable material and somewhat luxurious features, then the UPPAbaby Vista might be for you.
