Preparing the Chicken

This is another simple Asian dish you can make at home, and it makes for a great weeknight meal because it’s quick and easy to throw together. It is a chicken teriyaki bowl, and you’re going to start by cutting your chicken into bite-sized pieces and getting those added to the air fryer. I always use a liner to make cleanup easier.

Mist your chicken with some vegetable oil and I seasoned with original Mrs. Dash and black pepper here, air frying the chicken at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Cooking the Sides

I then prepared some instant white rice according to package instructions, and while that’s cooking, you’re going to steam some broccoli and edamame. These steamable bags you pop in the microwave make that a breeze.

You will then add your cooked chicken to a bowl so you can season it with your teriyaki.

I went with a teriyaki marinade here as my kiddos are not fans of the sticky teriyaki sauce but either one will do the trick.

You just want to make sure that your chicken is coated thoroughly, so add as much teriyaki as you need in order to do that.

Building the Bowl

It is then time to build your bowl. You will add half a cup of cooked rice to the bottom, and then I added four ounces of cooked chicken, measured out on the scale, and then added my veggies.

I always like to take the edamame seeds out of the pods to make for easier serving and eating for everyone. You will then add broccoli and carrots to give it that pop of color. You can add sesame seeds to the top and serve this up with soy sauce and sriracha.
