Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole milk warmed to 110°F
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup melted butter plus more for brushing
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of the honey. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add remaining honey, melted butter, and egg to the yeast mixture and whisk to combine.
  3. Add flour and salt, then mix until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 24 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on greased baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  6. Cover rolls and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake rolls for 12-15 minutes until golden brown on top.
  8. Brush hot rolls generously with melted butter and serve warm.
