Sirloin strips soaked in homemade teriyaki, ribboned, and grilled to glazed perfection.

Total Time 28 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb sirloin steak thinly sliced
  • 0.33 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Method

  1. Simmer soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a small pan.
  2. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until the teriyaki thickens, then cool slightly.
  3. Toss sliced beef in half the sauce and marinate 15 minutes.
  4. Thread the beef ribbons onto skewers.
  5. Grill 3-4 minutes per side, brushing with reserved teriyaki, until caramelized.

Notes

Slicing the steak against the grain keeps every bite tender.
