Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak cut into 1.5-inch cubes
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large red bell pepper cut into chunks
  • 1 large green bell pepper cut into chunks
  • 1 large red onion cut into chunks
  • 8 ounces mushrooms whole or halved if large

Method

  1. In a large bowl or resealable bag, combine soy sauce, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, brown sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add steak cubes to the marinade, toss to coat well, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes beforehand.
  4. Thread marinated steak cubes onto skewers, alternating with bell peppers, onion chunks, and mushrooms.
  5. Grill kabobs for 10-12 minutes, turning every 3 minutes, until steak reaches desired doneness and vegetables are tender with slight char.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest for 3 minutes before serving. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or over rice.
