Snickerdoodle Blondies

Rich blonde brownies made with brown butter and layered with cinnamon sugar then sliced into big squares.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar for topping
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon for topping

Method
 

  1. Heat the oven to 350F and line a 9x9 pan with parchment.
  2. Whisk the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. Stir the melted butter and brown sugar, then beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Fold in the dry ingredients until just combined and spread into the pan.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping evenly across the batter.
  6. Bake 22 to 25 minutes until the top is set and the center is just firm, then cool before slicing.

Notes

Brown the butter first for a deeper, nuttier flavor.
