Step-By-Step Instructions
Peel and Devein: Start by cleaning the shrimp under cold water. Peel them and remove the veins for a smooth and delicious bite every time.
Season the Shrimp: Lightly season the shrimp with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Set them aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Add the Rice: Stir in the rice and let it toast for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring every grain is coated in that delightful butter and garlic mixture.
Melt the Butter: In a large skillet or a sturdy pot, melt the butter over medium heat. The aroma of butter melting is simply irresistible.
Sauté the Garlic: Toss in the minced garlic and cook until it’s golden and fragrant. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
Pour in the Broth: Add the chicken broth and bring it to a boil. This will add depth and richness to our dish.
Season It Up: Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and a bit more salt and pepper. Stir everything to combine.
Simmer: Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
Add the Shrimp: Once the rice is nearly done, nestle the shrimp on top of the rice. Cover the pot again and let them cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
Finishing Touches: Squeeze the fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and rice, giving it a bright and zesty finish.
