Lamb Pastry Puffs

Golden baked pockets of flaky puff pastry filled with ground lamb and other herbs.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1/2 lb ground lamb
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 egg beaten
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Brown the lamb with garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper, then stir in parsley and cool.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into squares.
  4. Spoon lamb filling onto each square and fold into triangles, sealing the edges.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and bake 18 to 20 minutes until puffed and golden.

Notes

Drain the lamb well so the pastry stays crisp.
