Garlic Butter Crostini Toppers

This is my go-to appetizer when I need something that looks fancy but is secretly super simple! Crispy, garlicky bread topped with a variety of delicious combinations means there's something for everyone. Plus, you can prep the toppings ahead of time and just assemble before guests arrive.

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 8 ounces whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
  • 6 ounces prosciutto thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fig jam
  • 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and arrange baguette slices on a large baking sheet.
  2. Mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, and half of the parsley in a small bowl.
  3. Brush each baguette slice generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy around the edges. Let cool slightly.
  5. For the tomato-basil topping: spread cream cheese on one-third of the crostini, top with diced tomatoes and fresh basil, drizzle with balsamic glaze, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. For the prosciutto-fig topping: spread fig jam on another third of the crostini, layer with folded prosciutto, and sprinkle with crumbled goat cheese.
  7. Arrange all the crostini on a serving platter and garnish with remaining parsley.
  8. Drizzle everything lightly with olive oil just before serving for an extra touch of elegance.
