Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until well combined and fluffy.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in both the semi-sweet and white chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-11 minutes until the edges are set but centers still look slightly soft and underdone.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
