Creamy Herb Cheese Ball

This classic cheese ball is always the first thing to disappear at my holiday parties! It's creamy, packed with fresh herbs, and looks absolutely stunning on your appetizer table. Plus, you can make it ahead and let it chill in the fridge until your guests arrive.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley for coating
  • Crackers and vegetables for serving

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until well blended and smooth.
  2. Mix in the green onions, 2 tablespoons parsley, dill, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the mixture is firm enough to handle easily.
  4. While the cheese mixture chills, combine the chopped pecans and 2 tablespoons parsley on a large plate or shallow dish.
  5. Remove the cheese mixture from the refrigerator and use your hands to shape it into a ball on a clean surface.
  6. Roll the cheese ball in the pecan-parsley mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks all over.
  7. Wrap the finished cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 more hour before serving.
  8. When ready to serve, place on a festive platter surrounded by your favorite crackers, sliced baguette, and fresh vegetables.
