Classic Brown Sugar Chewy

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy, about 3 minutes, then add eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until no flour streaks remain.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, then cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look slightly underdone.
  8. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
