Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 24 cherry tomatoes
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 24 small mozzarella balls ciliegine
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 12 small wooden skewers or toothpicks
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish optional

Method

  1. Rinse the cherry tomatoes and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls and gently pat dry to remove excess moisture.
  3. Wash and dry the fresh basil leaves, keeping them whole.
  4. Thread one tomato onto each skewer, followed by a folded basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball, and repeat the pattern once more, ending with a tomato.
  5. Arrange the completed skewers on a festive serving platter in a decorative pattern.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, sea salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  7. Drizzle the olive oil mixture evenly over all the skewers.
  8. Just before serving, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the skewers in a decorative pattern.
  9. Garnish the platter with fresh rosemary sprigs to make it extra festive and serve immediately.
