Ingredients
  

  • 24 vanilla cupcakes cooled
  • 1 cupcake with blue or pink frosting approximately 1/4 cup frosting
  • 3 cups vanilla buttercream divided
  • Food coloring: 2–3 drops
  • Optional: sprinkles for neutral cupcakes

Method
 

  1. Prepare your favorite recipe for vanilla cupcakes and allow them to cool completely.
  2. Whip 3 cups of buttercream; color 1/4 cup to the reveal color.
  3. Frost 23 cupcakes with vanilla frosting, and top with neutral sprinkles.
  4. Frost one cupcake using the colored buttercream and put it to the side.
  5. Build a tower on the layered stand with the colored cupcake concealed near the top.
  6. Have the guest of honor take out one cupcake from the cupcake tower for the reveal.
