Moms can get tired quickly from their full-featured travel system strollers. They’re wonderful for when baby is a newborn, and all the bells and whistles are fun, but it gets exhausting carrying the large infant car seat onto the big bulky stroller.

Why Trust Us?

Because my full-time job is being mom to 2 precious daughters, and I know a thing or two about strollers. Besides personal experience, I get feedback from other moms who use these strollers every day and put all that research into our unbiased stroller buying guides

However, you can get a travel system without all of the bulk. The Graco LiteRider is a great alternative. At only 17 lbs, the LiteRider has all of the perks of a full-sized stroller!

Let’s take a look in detail at what this Graco Literider strollerGraco LiteRider Stroller Review 1 has to offer.

Table of Contents

Popular LiteRider Features:

  • Accepts a Graco SnugRide or SnugRide 35 car seat
  • Weighs only 17 pounds
  • Holds your child up to 40 pounds
  • One handed easy fold
  • 2-position reclining seat
  • Adjustable sun canopy with peek-a-boo window
  • Lockable front swivel wheels with front-end suspension
  • Large storage basket beneath the seat
  • Parent tray with two cup holders
  • Removable child’s snack tray with cup holder
  • Footrest
  • 3 or 5-point adjustable safety harness

Comfort & Safety

The seat on the LiteRider is roomy, at 14-inches wide and 30-inches tall. That’s large enough to accept a SnugRide infant car seat, turning this stroller into a lightweight Graco travel system.

This padded seat has two reclining positions: flat and upright. The flat position is just right for naps, newborns and for holding the car seat.

Eating and drinking in a stroller are going to mean spills. Fortunately, the seat is easy to clean because the cushion is removable and machine washable. Just put it in the delicate cycle and line dry.

The sun canopy has a peek-a-boo window so you can keep an eye on your little one. It’s adjustable as well, folding all the way back, halfway or fully expanded.

So now your child is comfortable, but what about safety? The Graco LiteRider gives you the choice between a 3-point or 5-point safety harness. The 3-point buckle is also known to be more comfortable on longer rides, which is always a plus!

Lightweight

Parents love this stroller as a compact, lightweight alternative to the big bulky travel system strollers. While this stroller will eventually weigh more with the infant car seat installed, it feels like nothing compared to larger travel systems that can be difficult to maneuver and put away into your car.

Storing the LiteRider is also very easy to store. It folds up nicely with an automatic storage latch to secure the frame together. This keeps the stroller together while you’re attending to your baby or trying to put it into your car with only one arm. When you’re ready to put your stroller away, it’s compact enough to leave room for groceries!

Rides with Ease

The wheels on the LiteRider are large enough to give a smooth ride; the front wheels measure 8 inches and the rear wheels are 8½ inches. It has double shock-absorbing front swivel wheels with locks for better stability on rougher surfaces.

Do keep in mind that the LiteRider is not an all-terrain stroller, so you should keep on smooth floors and streets for the most part.

Many lightweight strollers are smaller, which can mean hunching over to hold the handle and push. The adjustable handlebar on the LiteRider keeps you in the proper posture for a more pleasant outing!

Storage Space

Underneath the seat, you’ll find that the storage basket is large enough to carry what you need and is easily accessible because of the drop-down feature. This is especially helpful when the seat is reclined!

The Graco LightRider baby stroller includes a parent organizer tray with dual cup holders and a space for all of the essentials. It even has a child tray with a place to put a juice box or sippy cup. Perfect for long rides!

What parents are saying:

Parents are very happy with their Graco LiteRider, overall. Moms love how easy it is to fold and the quality you get for the low price.

Parents are surprised at how much they can fit into the large storage basket and are even more amazed at how lightweight this stroller is.

The LiteRider also gets compliments on the color schemes. Parents love the gender-neutral earth tones with cute patterns on the fabric. Another compliment frequently given is how simple the one-handed steering is, letting you maneuver quite well.

Disadvantages

Quite a few parents have mentioned that the child’s tray scrapes the ground when the stroller is folded, causing it to become scratched. Parents have also described how difficult it is to add or remove the tray from the frame.

There aren’t many more complaints than those, though! Overall parents are over the moon for this lightweight stroller!

Just imagine how good you’ll feel when you take your excited little passenger out for a ride in the Graco LiteRider!
