Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20
  • 12 corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 2 medium tomatoes diced
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and no pink remains, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and salt to the beef. Stir well to coat the meat evenly with the spices.
  3. Pour in the water and stir. Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and the flavors blend together.
  4. While the meat simmers, prepare your toppings by shredding the lettuce, dicing the tomatoes, and grating the cheese if needed.
  5. Warm the tortillas in the microwave for 30 seconds wrapped in a damp paper towel, or heat individually in a dry skillet for about 15 seconds per side.
  6. Set up a taco bar with the seasoned meat, warm tortillas, and all the toppings. Let everyone build their own tacos to their liking!
