Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces frozen whipped topping thawed
  • 6 ounces strawberry Jello 2 small packages
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and mix together the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar until well combined.
  2. Press the pretzel mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish and bake for 10 minutes, then cool completely.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese with 1 cup sugar until smooth and fluffy, then fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust, making sure to seal it all the way to the edges to prevent the Jello from seeping through.
  5. Refrigerate the dessert while you prepare the Jello layer.
  6. Dissolve the strawberry Jello in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes, then add 2 cups of cold water and stir well.
  7. Refrigerate the Jello mixture for about 30 minutes until it's slightly thickened but not set, then stir in the sliced strawberries.
  8. Carefully pour the Jello mixture over the cream cheese layer, spreading the strawberries evenly.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until the Jello is completely set before cutting into squares to serve.
