Total Time 30 minutes
Servings: 40 pieces

Ingredients

  • 3 gelatin packets
  • 1.25 cups water divided
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.125 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.5 tsp red food coloring
  • 0.5 cup coarse sugar for coating

Method

  1. Bloom the gelatin in half the water.
  2. Cook the remaining water, sugar, and spices until the sugar dissolves and it simmers a few minutes.
  3. Stir in the bloomed gelatin and food coloring until smooth.
  4. Pour into a lightly oiled candy mold or small pan and chill until firm.
  5. Cut or unmold the gumdrops and roll them in coarse sugar to coat.

Notes

Let them air-dry an hour after sugaring so the coating sticks and stays.
