Ingredients

  • 4 lb beef brisket
  • 2 large yellow onions sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Method

  1. Rub the brisket all over with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Layer the sliced onions across the bottom of the crockpot and set the brisket on top.
  3. Whisk together the beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire, and garlic, then pour it over the brisket.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, until the meat is fork-tender.
  5. Transfer the brisket to a cutting board, slice against the grain, and spoon the onion gravy over the top to serve.

Notes

Let it rest 10 minutes before slicing so the juices settle.
