Salted Caramel Sauce

A buttery pourable caramel sauce with a touch of flaky salt.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt

Method
 

  1. Melt the sugar in a heavy saucepan over medium heat, swirling until it turns amber.
  2. Carefully whisk in the butter until melted.
  3. Slowly pour in the cream while whisking; it will bubble up.
  4. Cook one more minute, then stir in the salt.
  5. Cool slightly and pour into a clean jar.
  6. Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Warm the jar gently before gifting so the caramel pours smooth.
