Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 4 sheets nori
  • 8 oz sushi-grade salmon sliced
  • 1 cucumber julienned
  • 1 avocado sliced

Method

  1. Cook the sushi rice, then fold in the rice vinegar and sugar and let it cool.
  2. Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo mat and spread a thin layer of rice over it.
  3. Arrange salmon, cucumber, and avocado in a line across the rice.
  4. Roll tightly using the mat, pressing gently to seal.
  5. Slice each roll into 6 to 8 pieces with a wet, sharp knife.

Notes

Wet your knife between cuts for clean slices that don't squish.
