Orange-Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce that simmers slowly with fresh oranges and a touch of cinnamon. The sauce has a jammy texture and a wonderful jewel-toned color.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 whole orange juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 stick cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Add the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, water, and cinnamon stick to the crockpot.
  2. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, until the cranberries burst and soften.
  4. Remove the cinnamon stick and mash to your preferred consistency.
  5. Let it cool, then chill before serving — it thickens as it sits.

Notes

It firms up in the fridge, so make it a day ahead and relax.
