One-Pot Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Everything goes into one pot, including the uncooked spaghetti, and somehow it all works out perfectly. The pasta absorbs the sauce as it cooks so there is nothing to drain and the flavor is incredible. Kids love it, the cleanup is fast, and that is all that matters on a Tuesday.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb spaghetti broken in half
  • 1 jar 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Method

  1. In a large deep pot over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion until cooked through, then drain excess fat.
  2. Add garlic and Italian seasoning and stir for one minute.
  3. Pour in marinara, beef broth, and water, then bring to a boil.
  4. Add the broken spaghetti, stir well, and reduce heat to medium, stirring frequently so the pasta does not stick.
  5. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes until spaghetti is tender and the sauce has thickened to your liking.
  6. Serve topped with grated Parmesan.
