Mini Crescent Calzones

These are the handheld pizza alternative your family will request on repeat. Stuff them with whatever you have — pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers — press the dough shut and bake. Serve with marinara and you've got a party appetizer that works for any age group.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tubes crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 oz sliced pepperoni quartered
  • 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Unroll crescent dough and press each set of two triangles together to form rectangles.
  3. Mix ricotta, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling on one half of each rectangle and fold dough over, pressing edges firmly to seal.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and cut two small slits on top.
  6. Bake 13 to 15 minutes until deeply golden, and serve with marinara.
