Maple Pecan Delights

Soft and slightly chewy cookies sweetened with genuine maple syrup and topped with a maple glaze.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup pecans chopped
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze

Method
 

  1. Cream the butter and brown sugar, then beat in the maple syrup and egg until smooth.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then stir into the wet mixture.
  3. Fold in the chopped pecans and scoop tablespoon mounds onto lined sheets.
  4. Bake at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes until set but still soft in the center.
  5. Whisk the powdered sugar with a splash of maple syrup and drizzle over the cooled cookies.

Notes

Use real maple syrup, not pancake syrup, for that deep flavor.
