Macaroni and Cheese

Stovetop mac and cheese is extra creamy, cheesy, and comforting!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk warmed
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Cook the macaroni until just tender, then drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, whisk in the flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly whisk in the warm milk until smooth and thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar until melted and silky.
  5. Fold in the macaroni, season with salt, and spoon into a warm thermos.

Notes

Make the sauce a little looser than usual so it stays creamy by lunch.
