Hot Sandwich with Ham and Swiss

This classic hot sandwich is a total lifesaver when you need lunch on the table fast! Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices sourdough or French bread
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 12 ounces deli ham thinly sliced
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional

Method
 

  1. Mix Dijon mustard with honey (if using) and spread on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Layer ham and Swiss cheese on 4 bread slices, then top with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
  3. Butter the outside of each sandwich generously on both sides.
  4. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  5. Slice in half diagonally and serve immediately while hot and gooey!
