Gingerbread Spice Cookie Mix

A spiced jar mix that transforms into soft, molasses-kissed gingerbread cookies.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 11 minutes
Total Time 26 minutes
Servings: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Method

  1. Whisk the flour, baking soda, and spices together, then layer over the brown sugar in a quart jar.
  2. Seal and attach a baking card.
  3. To bake, combine the mix with 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/4 cup molasses, and 1 egg until a dough forms.
  4. Chill the dough 30 minutes, then roll into balls and bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.
  5. Cool on the pan before moving to a rack.

Notes

The 30-minute chill keeps the cookies from spreading too thin.
