Gingerbread Snowflakes

Iced white gingerbread snowflake cookies.

Servings: 30 cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 tsp ground ginger

Method
 

  1. Cream the butter and brown sugar, then beat in the molasses.
  2. Mix in the flour, ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to form a dough.
  3. Chill the dough for 30 minutes, then roll it out on a floured surface.
  4. Cut into snowflake shapes and place on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes until set.
  6. Cool completely, then decorate with white royal icing.

Notes

Let the icing dry fully before stacking the cookies.
