Deep Fried Pickles

Dill pickle chips are coated in a seasoned batter and fried until crispy and golden.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups dill pickle chips drained
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Pat the pickle chips very dry with paper towels.
  2. Whisk the flour, paprika, and garlic powder in one bowl, the buttermilk in another.
  3. Heat the oil to 375 degrees F in a deep pan.
  4. Dip each pickle in buttermilk, then dredge in the seasoned flour.
  5. Fry in batches 2 to 3 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with ranch.

Notes

Drying the pickles well keeps the oil from splattering.
