Crispy Pork Gyoza

Dumplings are pleated and the filling contains seasoned pork, then they are pan-fried to a crisp and steamed to tender perfection.
Prep Time 35 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 47 minutes
Servings: 20 gyoza

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 green onions minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 20 gyoza wrappers
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Method

  1. Mix the pork, cabbage, green onions, and ginger into a smooth filling.
  2. Place a spoonful in the center of each wrapper, then pleat and seal the edges.
  3. Heat the sesame oil in a skillet and arrange the gyoza flat-side down.
  4. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottoms are golden.
  5. Add a splash of water, cover, and steam for 5 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Serve with a soy-vinegar dipping sauce.

Notes

A little water on the wrapper edges helps the pleats stay sealed.
