Cranberry Walnut Scones

Scones with a flaky and tender texture and have crunchy walnuts and dried cranberries stirred into the mixture.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cold butter cubed
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Whisk the flour, sugar, and baking powder, then cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in the cranberries and walnuts.
  4. Mix the cream and egg, then stir into the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Pat the dough into a circle, cut into 8 wedges, and place on the sheet.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden, then cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Keep the butter cold for the flakiest scones.
