Cornbread with Honey Butter

Warm cornbread served with whipped honey butter.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 3 tbsp honey

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and grease an 8-inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk the cornmeal, flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined.
  5. Pour into the dish and bake for 22 to 25 minutes until golden.
  6. Whip the softened butter with honey and serve alongside the warm cornbread.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter or the cornbread turns dense.
