Ingredients

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • cups granulated sugar divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 48 Hershey's Kisses unwrapped

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ½ cup sugar with cinnamon.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and generously coat each in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Place cookies 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets and bake for 9-10 minutes until edges are set but centers still look slightly soft.
  8. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each warm cookie. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
