Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1.5 cups whipped cream

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a jelly roll pan with parchment.
  2. Beat the eggs and sugar until thick, then fold in the flour and cocoa.
  3. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
  4. Turn the warm sponge onto a towel and roll it up to cool.
  5. Unroll, spread with whipped cream, and roll it back up.
  6. Frost with chocolate buttercream and rake lines to mimic bark.

Notes

Roll the sponge while it's still warm so it doesn't crack.
