Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in semi-sweet and white chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look slightly underdone.
  9. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
