Method
- Brown the ground beef with the diced onion in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika and cook for one minute.
- Pour in the water and simmer for five minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Warm the taco shells in the oven for a few minutes until crisp.
- Fill each shell with the beef and top with cheddar and shredded lettuce.
- Serve right away with salsa or hot sauce on the side.
Notes
Drain excess grease before adding the spices so the seasoning clings to the meat.
