Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken drumsticks about 12 drumsticks
  • 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top (or spray foil directly with cooking spray).
  2. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. This helps them get crispy!
  3. In a large bowl, toss drumsticks with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they're not touching each other.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, then flip the drumsticks over.
  6. Brush generously with BBQ sauce on all sides. Return to oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping!
