Asian Beef and Rice Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 head of butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce leaves separated
  • Optional: Sliced green onions shredded carrots, sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is softened and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the cooked rice, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Mix well to combine and heat through.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Spoon the beef and rice mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions, shredded carrots, and sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy these fresh, flavorful wraps!

Notes

You can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter option. Add extra veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition and flavor. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave or on the stovetop.
