Apple Cider Pulled Pork

Pork shoulder is slow cooked in apple cider and spices and then shredded to make sandwiches.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lb pork shoulder
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Method
 

  1. Rub the pork with the brown sugar, paprika, salt, and garlic powder.
  2. Place the onion in a slow cooker and set the pork on top.
  3. Pour in the cider and vinegar.
  4. Cover and cook on low 7 to 8 hours until fork-tender.
  5. Shred the pork with two forks and stir it back into the juices.
  6. Pile onto buns and serve.

Notes

No slow cooker? Braise covered in a 300F oven for about 4 hours.
