Ingredients

  • 24 cherry tomatoes
  • 24 small fresh mozzarella balls ciliegine
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 small wooden skewers or toothpicks

Method

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning. Thread each skewer with a cherry tomato, a basil leaf (folded), a mozzarella ball, another basil leaf, and another cherry tomato.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over all the skewers.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Line the basket with parchment paper if desired (it makes cleanup easier!).
  4. Place skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  5. Air fry for 4-5 minutes, just until the mozzarella begins to soften and the tomatoes start to blister. You don't want to cook them too long or the cheese will melt off!
  6. Carefully remove the skewers and arrange them on a serving platter. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve immediately while the cheese is still warm and gooey. Your guests will love these!
