Air Fryer Buffalo-Less Drumsticks (Mild)

Air-fried drumsticks with a small amount of buttery hot sauce.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 50 minutes
Total Time 1 hour
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks about 2 1/2 pounds
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon mild hot sauce or to taste

Method

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F. Pat chicken dry and toss with oil, salt and garlic powder.
  2. Arrange 4 drumsticks in a single layer with gaps, or fewer if necessary. Air-fry for 20–25 minutes, turning halfway, until at least 165°F away from bone. Repeat with the second batch; timing varies with size and appliance.
  3. Melt butter and stir in hot sauce. Brush over cooked drumsticks, or serve on the side for children. Hot sauce still has heat even when diluted; omit it for a no-heat portion.
