9) Paw Patrol Inspired Layer Cake

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 2 boxed yellow cake mixes plus eggs/oil/water as box directs
  • 2 cups buttercream frosting store-bought or homemade
  • Food gel: red blue, yellow, black (small tubes)
  • 8 oz cream cheese optional, for tang
  • 1/2 cup mini M&Ms or sprinkles for accents
  • Paw Patrol toy toppers plastic, washed

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line two 8-inch round pans.
  2. Prepare cake batter per box directions. Divide evenly into pans.
  3. Bake 25–30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes, then invert to wire racks to cool completely.
  4. Tint half the buttercream red and half blue. Add a few black dabs on a small plate for paw prints.
  5. Level cakes if needed. Spread a thin crumb coat, chill 15 minutes.
  6. Frost top layer blue and sides red, or vice versa. Use a small spoon dipped in black to dot paw prints.
  7. Add M&Ms as collar accents and place cleaned toy toppers on top.
