7. Earl Grey Tea Cookies with Vanilla Glaze

These are for when you want to feel a little bit fancy after the kids go to sleep. They pair perfectly with a hot cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons loose Earl Grey tea leaves finely crushed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1 tablespoon milk for glaze

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Beat the butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, crushed tea leaves, and vanilla together until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour until a dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the bottoms are light brown. Let cool.
  6. Mix the remaining powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze. Drizzle over the cooled cookies.
