Ingredients

  • 3 lb chicken wings tips removed, separated
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup lager beer room temp
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter

Method

  1. Pat wings dry, season with salt and pepper, and brown in oil over medium-high heat, 6–8 minutes. Work in batches to avoid crowding.
  2. Remove wings, sauté onion in butter until softened, then return wings to pan.
  3. Add beer, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  4. Cover and braise on low for 25–30 minutes, then uncover and move to 425°F oven for 10–12 minutes to caramelize.
  5. Rest 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve with extra napkins.
