Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken wings tips removed and split
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup orange juice preferably fresh
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water slurry
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • Sesame seeds and sliced scallions for garnish

Method

  1. Toss wings with five-spice, salt, garlic powder, and oil. Let sit 10 minutes while the air fryer preheats to 400°F.
  2. Arrange wings in a single layer and cook 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp and cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, simmer orange juice, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and ginger until slightly reduced, 4–6 minutes.
  4. Stir in cornstarch slurry, cook until glossy and thickened, about 1 minute.
  5. Toss cooked wings in glaze to coat or brush glaze on and return to air fryer 2 minutes to set.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions, then serve hot.
