13. Campfire Cast Iron Biscuit Casserole

We love camping, but cooking a big breakfast outdoors can be chaotic. This simple method works perfectly over hot coals or right in your home oven.
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 can 16 oz refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 can 15 oz pre-made sausage gravy
  • 2 tbsp butter melted

Method

  1. If cooking at home, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. If camping, prepare your hot coals.
  2. Brush the inside of a 10-inch cast iron Dutch oven with the melted butter.
  3. Cut the biscuits into quarters and place them in the bottom of the Dutch oven.
  4. Pour the canned sausage gravy evenly over the biscuits.
  5. Cover with the lid. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or place over hot coals (with coals on the lid) for 25 to 30 minutes until the biscuits are done.
