10) Chocolate-Hazelnut French Toast Pull-Apart

Warm chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and soft brioche. This one gets requested on slow Saturdays when the kids are in a negotiating mood and I need a breakfast that ends the discussion fast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf brioche or challah cut into 1-inch cubes (about 10 cups)
  • 1 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread like Nutella
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts toasted and chopped
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Powdered sugar and extra chocolate-hazelnut spread for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 pan.
  2. Toss bread cubes with half the chocolate-hazelnut spread and the chopped hazelnuts.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl.
  4. Pour custard over the bread and press gently to soak.
  5. Spoon remaining chocolate-hazelnut spread in small dollops over the top.
  6. Bake 35–40 minutes until set and golden.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle more chocolate-hazelnut before serving.
